Boardman Bay Capital Management (BBCM) is a leading investment manager specializing in public and private technology companies.

We focus on high-growth opportunities in transformative technology subsectors, including Generative AI, Co-Packaged Optics, and Datacenter Infrastructure. By blending hands-on experience in technology startups with seasoned expertise from Wall Street, we have built a balanced, insightful, and entrepreneurial investment platform designed to identify and capitalize on industry-defining innovations.

Since 2012, we have pursued transformative opportunities in public equities through our flagship Digital Transformation Fund, a long/short strategy focused on the evolving technology landscape. In 2017, we sharpened our focus on hard technology infrastructure with the launch of the concentrated long-only Optical Opportunities Fund.

The Optical Opportunities Fund targets critical technologies that form the backbone of modern AI and digital transformation, including semiconductors, high-speed connectivity, networking, and hardware innovations. These areas are vital to enabling next-generation computing power and scalability, positioning the fund at the forefront of the AI-driven technological revolution.

Our overall approach is underpinned by a deep fundamental research process, access to proprietary networks cultivated over decades, and a profound understanding of core technologies. These strengths enable us to uncover unique investment opportunities and deliver substantial, uncorrelated returns for our investors.

PUBLIC EQUITY

VENTURE CAPITAL

Since 2015, we have invested in leading-edge technology companies poised at critical growth inflection points, primarily through a series of venture LP investments. Recognizing the sharp market dislocation in private “hard technology” companies, we are launching the Private Opportunities Fund in late 2024 to capitalize on the growing potential in this space.

While our strategy is stage- and geography-agnostic, we predominantly target Series B+ companies in North America that are technologically de-risked. Our focus spans key sectors such as semiconductors, data infrastructure, robotics, and other critical hard-tech verticals, positioning us to drive meaningful impact and value creation in the global technology ecosystem.
